If you’ve just purchased a new dining room table, or if you are in the market for one, it may also be time to replace your dining chairs as well. for some people, they prefer to buy a matching set—table, side chairs, and armchairs, and maybe even a bench. For others, though, they prefer the look of a table with coordinating chairs, rather than ones that perfectly match.

One look that we see a lot of is with industrial dining tables matched with fabric or upholstered chairs. The softness of the upholstery is the perfect contrast to the hard, crisp, modern lines of an industrial or modern reclaimed wood dining table. When selecting an upholstered chair, the wood of the leg is the only wood that you may want to coordinate with the table—but it's not necessary. With many tables made from reclaimed wood, the tone of the wood is going to vary, sometimes with multiple variations within the same table. As long as the contrast is not too great, any chair should work. You can also go with an industrial metal chair, even if it's made by a different manufacturer, or if the metal doesn't exactly match the metalwork on the table.
