Looks softer than it feels

We are pleased with the actual appearance of this chair. The pictures depicting the distressed leather appearance were accurate. However, the leather is not actually soft! Likewise, the seat depth is greater than many side chairs. I need a throw pillow in front of the backrest to be comfortable for both my wife and myself. Sometimes you just need to touch, feel and sit in furniture to know for sure what you are getting. I hope this review might be helpful to others.
